About the Placement: The Screen Industries Growth Network (SIGN) have awarded Oxygen with funding to host a placement in the screen sector industries based in Yorkshire. Specifically, the placement will support individuals from diverse backgrounds who have been excluded from getting into or developing their career in the screen industries. SIGN and Oxygen are seeking to support those who identify as coming from a lower socio-economic background, those who are ethnically underrepresented and those who identify as LGBTQ*.

Information:

You would be a central part of the production process as we continue our second season of our hit Amazon show "A SERIES OF LIGHT", which reached over 5,000,000 households in its first six months. This includes being involved in the production from start to finish, taking responsibility for several projects within the course of the show, such as:

  • Marketing and Press (engaging in communications, both with our audience and arranging press junkets) - working with Senior Creative Coordinator Eleanor Hodson.

  • Understand and work with our Casting team to successfully cast talent as required. Both feature actors as well as supporting and extra roles.

  • Work with Showrunner Gage Oxley to assist with recruitment of crew, as well as support with assigning and contacting placements.

  • Work with Head of Film Harley Mathews to attribute production plans alongside the individual 1st ADs, including: location recces, call sheets, transport and accommodation.

  • Work with Head of Film Harley Mathews to communicate effectively between department heads based on their needs, answering and fielding queries of the Production.

  • Attends weekly Company Production and Casting Meetings

  • Other ad hoc duties as may be reasonably expected

The role is based in Leeds, with production taking place in Leeds (with some possible exceptions to the wider Yorkshire area). The majority of work is remote, with some production days requiring limited and commutable travel. Unsociable hours would only be the case when on production and will be limited throughout the course of the placement. The majority of work hours would be weekdays. Hours are variable and we're a flexible organisation.

Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Significant knowledge of G-suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive etc.)

  • Strong scheduling abilities

  • Abilities to remain calm and level-headed in a fast-paced environment

  • A genuine love of film and desire of filmmaking

  • Strong initiative and a proactive nature

  • Able to work both as part of a team and independently

Desirable

  • An understanding of film production and practices

  • An ability to prioritise tasks

  • Very organised, with great time/project management

​

Hours

The placement is a full-time contract at 37hrs per week, however we are open to the possibility of a job share. Your answer to this question on the application will not affect whether you are recruited. This is a fixed 12 week contract on a freelance basis, it is your responsibility to complete a tax self-assessment at the end of the financial year.
